What is the difference between yeast infection and a bladder infection? How do you get them?

I been having a pain down there like if I cut my self shaving. I burns when I pee or just walk around. I have questioned a couple of people and they say it might be a bladder problem and the others say it might be a yeast infection.

A yeast infection is caused by yeast. It grows where it is warm and mosit and is caused by a fungus. You will have a lot of itching & burning. There is often a white discharge.
A bladder infection is caused by bacteria in the bladder. You can get both from sexual intercourse. A bladder infection will cause burning while you urinate, stomach pain, fever, dark & cloudy urine, and sometimes blood in the urine.
If you notice more of a problem with itching & odor, it is probably a yeast infection, which you can treat with an over the counter remedy. (Monistat, for example) If you have a lot of burning WHILE you pee, you should see your doctor for testing & antibiotics. Left untreated, it can travel to your kidneys and cause scarring.

go to the doctor…
Generally a bladder infection hurts in the abdomen area, or when you pee, you can get it by not drinking enough water…a yeast infection is itchy and sometimes painful on the outside or inside of your vagina….they are two different types of pain in my experiecne. Either way you should see your doctor.

A bladder infection is an dreadful thing to have. It usually requires antibiotics to clear it up, so that it doesn’t spread to your kidneys. It will cause the same type of stinging pain that you are experiencing as a urinary tract infection, which usually isn’t quite as terrible. A excellent way to get rid of either infection is to take cranberry tablets and drink A LOT of water to flush out your system. Also, make sure that you wash that area after going to the toilet. Another product you might like to try is Ural, which takes the sting away, and is sold over the counter at pharamcies.
A yeast infection is often simpler to cure. If you have a yeast infection, you will probably have some white discharge with a burning sensation. You will need to treat it with some thrush cream which is also avaiable over the counter at pharmacies.
